Ekibin Creek
Ekibin Creek is a key wildlife link between Mt Gravatt Conservation Reserve and Norman Creek Catchment.
Project Details
Ekibin Creek Bushcare Group was formed in 1997 on Council land on the corner of Bapaume Rd and Gaza Rd in Holland Park West following a successful Clean Up Australia Day event. Enthusiasm was high and so we planted in part of Holland Park High School adjoining the site in an Olympic Tree Planting event in 2000.
Holland Park High School has now signed up to Land For Wildlife on the land which links existing old growth forest and our restored land. The senior students now visit the site for various lessons and assist with planting every year.
One day perhaps we will have restored bushland reaching all the way to the busway and freeway!
